Kyle is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® holding Series 65, Series 63 and Series 7, Securities Licenses [form ADV 2-B] together with a FL-215 Life, Health and Variable Insurance license. He has an accomplished educational background in business and economics. He received his bachelor’s degree from LaGrange College in Georgia and two post graduate degrees from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking: Southern Methodist University as well as from the Graduate School of Bank Investments and Financial Management: University of South Carolina.

As an Ocala native with over 30-years of experience in banking and financial services, Kyle has been on the front lines of the ups and downs of economic cycles and understands how to guide clients toward financial goals. Kyle’s financial services background began in 1989 with a 20-year career in commercial banking. He has an accomplished educational background in business and economics. He received his bachelor’s degree from LaGrange College in Georgia and post graduate studies from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University as well as from the Graduate School of Bank Investments and Financial Management at the University of South Carolina.

A fifth-generation Floridian, Kyle has served his community as a two term City Councilman, representing Ocala’s at-large district and on various civic and non-profit boards of the Ocala Marion Transportation Planning Organization, The Ocala Planning and Zoning Board and past president of the Boys and Girls Club of Marion County.

Soon after his election as a councilman, Kyle met his wife Mindy, and they have continued their life and careers together in their hometown. Kyle and Mindy have four children and one Grandson. They enjoy their work together and spending personal time on the water anywhere in Florida and traveling throughout North America and abroad. 

Mindy started her professional career as a nurse in Central Florida. She has a deep understanding of how the medical industry operates on both the provider and insurance coverage sides.

Mindy holds a Florida-215 Insurance License for Life, Health, and Annuity and specializes in helping retirees navigate the complexities of Medicare, Social Security and long-term medical care. Mindy focuses on empowering SWM clients to make informed decisions; Mindy provides guidance that gives her clients confidence that they have the right coverage for their needs.

Outside of work, Mindy and Kyle, are the parents of Jourdon, Dillon, Aaron, and Allison and are delighted to be grandparents to their first grandchild, Jaxon. Both Mindy and Kyle have taken great pride in raising their family here in Florida. As a business owner and mother of four, Mindy understands the concerns of a parent don’t end when the kids move on to build their careers and start families. Balancing work and family is challenging as well as a top priority for Mindy as she and Kyle offer parental guidance to their family through life’s successes and challenges.

Allison Kay, our Summer Intern at Sterling Wealth Management. She holds an Associate of Arts degree and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Marketing at the University of Florida. Recently, Allison was accepted into UF’s Master’s program, Allison brings passion, creativity, and fresh insight to every project. Her enthusiasm for marketing and commitment to growth make her a valuable part of our team this summer.
